2. Definition

  1. (1) "Personal Information" means information about a living individual by which a specific person can be identified, such as name, address, date of birth, etc., included in the information.   2. (2) "Personal Data" means personal information that forms part of a personal information database, etc. (as defined in Article 16, Paragraph 1 of the Act).

3. Compliance with Relevant Laws and Regulations

The Company shall comply with the Act, other applicable laws and regulations, as well as guidelines issued by the Personal Information Protection Commission and other relevant guidelines, and shall handle personal information appropriately.

4. Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

When the Company acquires personal information, it shall disclose or notify the purpose of use (including publication under this Policy). In cases where personal information is obtained directly from the individual via a contract or other written instrument (including electronic records), the Company shall clearly state the purpose of use in advance and shall acquire the information by lawful and fair means.

The Company shall use personal information appropriately and to the extent necessary to achieve the stated purposes of use.

    1. Human resources and labor management (recruitment, promotions and salary increases, transfers, retirement procedures)
    2. Payroll calculation, social insurance, and tax procedures
    3. Attendance management, employee benefits, and occupational health and safety management
    4. Training and development, performance evaluation, and career support
    5. Internal communications and crisis management (emergency contact network, disaster response, etc.)
  5. (5) Personal Information of Job Applicants
    1. Recruitment selection (receipt of resumes and work histories, document screening, interview scheduling, etc.)
    2. Notification of hiring decisions and guidance on joining procedures
    3. Conducting aptitude tests and examinations, and managing selection results
    4. Providing information through our recruitment publicity and “My Page” services
    5. Using data analysis and statistics to improve recruitment activities

6. How We Share Your Personal Information

  1. (1) Except in the cases listed below, the Company will not provide personal data to any third party without obtaining the individual’s prior consent:
    1. Where required by law or ordinance.
    2. Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent.
    3. Where particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of sound child development and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent.
    4. Where cooperation is required with a national or local government body, or an entity commissioned thereby, in performing legally prescribed duties, and obtaining the individual’s consent might impede performance of those duties.
    5. Where providing personal data to an academic or research institution, etc., for the purpose of academic research (including cases where only part of the handling purpose is research), provided that the handling does not unreasonably infringe on the rights or interests of the individual.
    6. Where the Company has given prior notification or public notice of matters required under law, and has filed a report with the Personal Information Protection Commission.
  2. (2) The following cases do not constitute provision to a ‘third party’:
    1. Where the Company entrusts, within the scope necessary to achieve the stated purposes of use, all or part of the handling of personal data to an external party.
    2. Where personal data is provided due to business succession accompanying a merger or other corporate reorganization.

7. Measures for Securing Safety Controls

The Company shall implement necessary and appropriate security control measures to manage personal data (including personal information the Company has obtained or intends to obtain and plans to treat as personal data; the same applies in this Article) in order to prevent leakage, loss, or damage. The Company shall also exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over employees and contractors who handle personal data.

8. Requests for Disclosure, etc., of Personal Information

Under the Act, when the Company receives a request from an individual for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, suspension of third-party provision, or notification of the purpose of use regarding any retained personal data held by the Company, it will follow prescribed procedures to confirm that the requester is the individual in question or a duly authorized representative, and will respond appropriately in accordance with the Act.
